A Must Read!
Vortex Vision is a sequel to the Air Awakens Series with a time leap of 20 or so years. While you don’t need to read the first 5 books of the original series, I felt that it gave an extra depth and background to the characters and how the story unfolds having read the series not so long ago.
Vi Solaris, Daughter of Aldrik Solaris and Vhalla Yarl and heir to the Solaris Empire, is shown to be a steadfast strong young lady much like her mother, Vhalla. While she is having trouble to control her magic, she soon discovers that it might be entirely something else and she discovers that she might very well be the key to save her world.
The story is very well-paced and Elise Kova’s writing has involved considerably from her world-building to creating suspense and heartbreaking romance. The action sequences and plot points are well thought out and make this book a page-turner. The romance has its own pace and doesn’t seem over the top at any moment and it feels tangible. The characters; Andru, Taavin, Jayme, Ellene, Jax, and the rest are well developed. I can’t wait to read more of them.
This will definitely be one of favorite books from Elise Kova. Recommended for all YA Fantasy Fans (totally recommended if you’ve read the original series because this book is so much better).
